Our Environmental Policy…
We are actively involved in projects with the Forestry Commission to extend the bridle paths, walking and cycling routes throughout the Trossachs. Our base at Easterhill Farm is now directly linked to the SUSTRANS National Cycle network. A number of new Family Friendly cycle routes have since been introduced.
Many of our activities have a low carbon footprint, and we aim to reduce this even further. Future plans include changing facilities with a sustainable wood fired heating & hot water system, with rainwater harvest for flushing loos & washing our vehicles.
We are testing running vehicles on vegetable oil, with a view to running them on recycled cooking oil.
We have over 50 acres of land at our farm, with about 12 acres of woodland, which we aim to extend as a carbon off set project.
With the assistance of Glasgow Caledonian University and its KIT Out The Park Project we are also looking at low energy lighting and wind power for future development of our outbuildings in to Bunkhouse Facilities. These will target cyclists, walkers & even horse riders, with horse/pony B&B
Stabling & grazing paddocks will be included for our equine guests as well as a rainwater harvest bike wash, and a small workshop and secure storage for our cycling visitors.
